Wow time flies, I can't believe Charlie was 3 months this past Thursday! He weighs a little over 15 lbs. now and growing like a weed. A few things about Charlie

-He laughs out loud

-He smiles and is kind of shy about it:)

-He can roll from stomach to back

-He can sit in his bumbo now

-He recognizes people and their voices now

-He sleeps in his crib now

-He sleeps through the night

-He likes to watch Duke

-He loves the bath

-He uses his legs to stand all the time now

We love him so much and it's so fun to watch him grow and learn new things each day, I couldn't imagine my life without him! There's no love like the love of your child!

Vegas Trip

We drove to Vegas over August the 11th for a few days and we had so much fun. It was nice to sleep in, go to the pool all day and eat tons of junk food! Charlie did awesome in the car and I think he liked Vegas too, he would stare at all the flashing lights on the strip and wouldn't look away. That vacation was much needed before school started:)

I was so busy finishing getting everything ready for Charlie in May that I forgot to post a 23rd birthday picture of me. Man I was huge those last couple weeks and so swollen, I don't miss that at all...well maybe the sleep:)

Charlie's 1st Bees Game, he slept the whole time and we had fantastic Chicago dogs!

Charlie's 1st time swimming, he liked it I think he didn't cry so that was good. We just bobbed him around in the water.

I also forgot to post our 2nd year anniversary pictures which was on June 28th. We did the Alpine Slide (my first time) and ate at a yummy Mexican restaurant by the resort. Charlie wasn't quite a month old and I was sad to leave him but it was nice to get away dor a little bit too.

Charlie loves hanging out in this carrier I have on..the Moby, highly recomended!

This kid is growing so fast we had to cut the bottoms off his 3 month pj's at age 2 months:) We resorted to buying 6-9 month things so he can wear them longer than a month.

If Charlie is ever fussy we simply take him outside to close his eyes from the bright sun, get his breath taken away by the wind and get warmed up. He loves it and so do we!

Duke also loves it!

Charlie was blessed by Jonathan on July 11th and it was amazing in every way, from the blessing to all the family and friends that came to support us and to the delicious food! Jon gave Charlie such a great blessing and the spirit was so strong in my heart while listening to it, I just broke down crying the whole time. It fit his little personality so well and I couldn't imagine the words in the blessing being any different.

We had a fun filled 3 day weekend for the 4th. It's crazy to think that last year Duke was just a small puppy and we had no Charlie man, I like this year better:) We started out with the Murray parade on State Street, a bbq and swimming with friends, another bbq with the family the next day and Monday was a lazy lounge day for me and Jon!

This is long over due but I wanted to write Charlie's story down so I don't ever forget any details of his birth. Tuesday, May 25th (38 1/2 weeks) I had a doctor appointment at 7:30 a.m. and my doctor stripped my membranes because I'd been contracting since I was 35 weeks and every time I was going into the doctor's I was dilated more. This started my contractions and I just didn't feel good all day, not to mention I was huge and so uncomfortable. Towards the evening my contractions started going away so I had Jon get me some castor oil and ingredients to make an orange julius out of it; I downed it in disgust and instantly was sick to my stomach but the contractions came back full force. I couldn't get to sleep til 1 a.m. and was awake at 2:30 a.m. to 3 minute contractions but no water breakage. I told Jon to call the hospital and luckily my doctor was on call so we called him and he said to go to the hospital so I got up to get dressed and my water broke. What a relief, I did not want to go to the hospital only to be sent home because my water hadn't broke yet. I yelled to Jon that my water broke and we just looked at each other in awe because our baby was really on his way; we got things together and left for the hospital at 3:30 a.m. and arrived just before 4:00 a.m. By this time my contractions were fast and hard, it took everything in me to get into the hospital because I was in so much pain. We got into our room, got hooked up to the monitors (contractions were 1 minute apart), got my epidural and finally could relax. I was just over a 2 when I arrived and my nurse assured me baby wouldn't come til that afternoon so I sent Jon home to shower and be with Duke. To mine and the nurses amazement I dilated from a 2 to an 8 in about an hour and a half so no sleep for me while Jon was gone, he had to rush back ASAP because the nurse told me he better hurry. I got nervous because my family was out of town except for my sister Lisa, who was on her way, and Jon wasn't back yet. I suddenly got the urge to push, I told my nurse and she blew it off because she didn't think I would go that fast, by time she rechecked me I was ready to push. Jon got there shortly after, followed by my sister and the doctor was waiting at the nurses station until Charlie was ready to come out. I pushed for about 20 minutes and there he was. Charlie Michael Olson was 8 lbs 2 oz, 20 in long and born at 7:18 a.m. May 26th. He was very bruised and swollen from the cord wrapped around his neck and from coming down the birthing canal so fast. He has so much dark hair, everyone was making comments about it, and is healthy as can be. I cried the second I saw him and was in love at first sight, but truth be told, I felt like I'd known him all along and I coudn't picture him any other way. Jon was an amzing coach and watched the whole time, which suprised me because he didn't know what to expect or how he'd react to everything. He's the best, most rewarding thing we've ever done and wouldn't change it for anything! I've never been so tired in my life but everytime I look at him I love him even more and for his sweet spirit in our lives. He was made especially for us and I've never had a more spiritual experience than his birth, I love knowing that he was fresh from heaven:) I love my Charlie boy!

Baby Shower and Art

First of all, do you think he has enough clothes yet?? That took 3 loads of laundry to wash all of it!

And enough blankets, that took another 2 loads!

My first baby shower was thrown by both grandmas at Wendy's house on Saturday the 17th, lots of family and neighbors stopped by with adorable gifts galore. It was great to see everyone! I was exhausted when I got home but wonderful Jonathan carried everything in for me from the car and helped me organize and out things away:) I already filled up his drawers and closet??

We celebrated Jenna's 17th birthday!!

The very talented Jonathan did this huge, amazing mural at a marketing company! He did an awesome job and has many more art projects lined up already, I'm so proud of him:)

Happenings

I'm 31 weeks..9 weeks to go, I can't believe it!! My 4 week doctor appointments are over too so now it really feels like the baby will be here in no time. I can now feel limbs and the bottom of his feet when he pushes out hard enough, it's so amazing I love it!

Me and Jonathan on Easter...P.S. We ate way too much between 2 houses:)

We finally finished the walls in the nursery (I forgot to take a picture before we put the furniture in), only finishing touches left now. And Jon put the crib and changing table together:)

You can kind of see the walls in the background here, those shelves around the window were aweful to paint! 3 coats later and I never want to do that again!

Duke has been having a hard past 3 weeks, we got him nuetered and he had some complications since he is so big and we waited so long to nueter him. He has now had 3 surgeries and has to wear this tube to keep him away from his behind. However, he still manages to lick so now we have to keep him sedated so he can heal. Poor guy, he does love the tube now though, he uses it as a pillow...............

27 weeks=almost 7 months=3rd trimester...finally!! I really do love being pregnant, even through all the aches and pains, but I can't wait to see him...and name him?? We've been working on the baby room and all we have left to do is paint:) After paint we can finally put all the furniture in the room and all the clothes he already has in the drawers. He has lots already and I justify myself by knowing everything we've bought so far has been on sale....could you pass up 3 outfits from Macys at 3 dollars a piece???

The bottom half and shelves will be white and the top half a tan/gry color

Can't wait for you to all see the finished product!!

Valentines Cont. and More

Jon got cufflinks from me for Valentine's and yet again, as with all holidays, birthdays, anniversarys and so on, he outdid me with this painting of Duke for the baby room...

He included damask, which is one my favorite designs, in the color we're using on the baby's walls...
And since I'm 25 weeks and 6 months pregnant you all get a belly picture:)
And a list of what else is changing besides my growing belly..

I MUST sleep with a body pillow every night and sleeping on my side is getting old, fast.

I have aquired the "pregnancy line" all the way down my belly.

My bellybutton is definatly on its way to becoming an outty each day.

He rolls, kicks, stretches, gets the hiccups and I'm also determined he swims in there, well that's what it feels like at least:)

My hair is growing rapidly!

The name game is out the window for now, we're determined not to name him or talk about it until he's here.

I love how my body and life is changing, it's amazing! I can't wait to meet him and see what and who he looks like, that's the part I'm most anxious about:)

He's around 13 inches and a 1 1/2 pounds this week, space already looks tight in there.

We celebrated Valentine's on Friday with the most delicious Italian food you could ever eat..Cucina Toscana, mmmmm it was the best food I think I've ever eaten:) After dinner we headed over to Capital Theatre for my favorite ballet, Swan Lake! Jon really liked it too, such a great love story. Thanks for a fabulous, loved filled night baby:)

On Sunday I made the best coffee cake ever, got a sub for our primary kids and decorated our living room for V-day for Jon when he woke up....we had some much needed husband and wife time, it was so relaxing! We visited Jon's grandpa's grave and took Duke to the dog park where he ran his little heart out...and got very dirty, which resulted in a bath when we got home:)
He enjoys the water and it's a good thing too because he looks so pretty and shiny when he's clean!

My Lovely Baby Bump...

I am now finally loving being pregnant; I'm not sick, tired and cranky anymore!! It's weird to watch my tummy grow and feel the baby move inside me, it's so exciting:) Me and the baby are measuring right where we should, I've gained a total of 8 lbs. so far, the baby kicks hard enough to see my belly move and I was 21 weeks yesterday..more than half way, YEA!!!

We were so excited last night because Jon felt him move for the first time, it was amazing and I even started crying..I'm so emotional right now! I've felt him moving for a few weeks now and Jon has been asking when he can start to feel him, his wish was finally granted. I then proceded to drink a mug of hot chocolate to get the baby to move more and we layed on the bed and watched my belly dance around with his big kicks; we love this experience and are so excited to meet him:)

We celebrated some birthdays, Wendy bird on January 16th and my dad on the 18th!

We had another wonderful Christmas, Jon spoiled me again this year, and the baby got lots of fun stuff too!!

It's a BOY!!!! Were so excited, we went to Fetal Fotos tonight and found out were having a little boy:) I was shocked, I was 100% sure it was going to be a girl and I started crying the second the nurse told us what he was. It was the best experience ever, he was kicking and moving all around; being pregnant is definatly the best roller coaster ride of emotion I've ever been on:) I'll post some pics of the the ultrasound soon!......P.S. 4 months and 3 days today, 165 left woo woo!

Jon, you've been a saint the last few weeks while I've been sick; you really know how to take care of your sick wife! So I let me tell you all the reasons why I'm so in love with you and maybe this will make up for all the things you've been doing for me:)

1) You were my first and only true love

2) You know me better than I know myself and know how to keep me in line:)

3) I love that you wake up with Duke every night and pick up his poo poo

4) I love that I always tell you I'm going to send you to a life-lesson class and you agree

5) I love that you make me laugh everyday of our lives together

6) I love how good you take care of me when I'm sick, you'll be a great daddy:)

7) I love that you hold the Preisthood and have used it many times on me as well as other family

8) I love how you get on my case about the toothpaste container being gross after I use it.......and I love losing track of how many times a day you brush your teeth:)

9)I love your bargain shopping

10) I can't leave out the fact that I kinda like your long locks still

11) I love being your highschool sweetheart!

12) I love that you took me to the Temple to be sealed to you

13) I love that the last thing I hear every night is "Good night, love you babe"

14) I think it's kinda weird that you smell your socks everytime you take them off..is that a boy thing?

I'm 11 weeks and due June 1st:) I've been super sick but it's all for a good cause; were very excited to be new parents and seeing the little heart beat today just made it even that more real to us!! Yea for us...we have a worm that is 2 inches long, sigh:)

Dukers Update

So everyone has been asking about the little guy so I decided to update our blog an show where Duke is at from when we brought him home weighing 4 pounds. This was his first bath at 6 weeks.

He sits on the couch with his butt on the couch and his front legs on the ground. He likes to use me as seat too.

Family night at the pumpkin patch. Duke is 5 1/2 months old and weighs 85 pounds. He has been such a great addition to our lives. He is a big teddy bear that loves to snuggle whenever he can. He doesnt realize how big he is yet.

Me and Jon started the day off with the Murray Parade that took place right down the street from our place. It was kinda lame and our favorite part about the parade was this Wendy's frosty accompanied my Wendy:)

After the parade we wene to my parent's house and did a little swimming and laying out with family, neighbors and friends...I think we were about 30 strong that day!

I LOVE this family, the Jolley's, they are so cute!!

After a priceless dinner filled with ribs, burgers, hot dogs, salads and dessert we had the neighbor boys over for some old fashioned entertainment! They were great..

We ended the night with some Utah styte fireworks and they were awesome! What a great holiday...until next year!

Anniversary and Jon's Birthday Weekend....

Jon's birthday was June 25th and our 1st..eehhh..Anniversary was June 28th! I can't believe how fast that went by and how much of a newleywed I still feel like:) I love my life with Jon and how he makes me laugh every single day no matter what!!

First of all, our cake was delicious as ever thanks to the best trick in the book to preserving the cake...wrap in seran wrap, put in paper bag and taped the whole way around..it was SOOO fresh tasting still! P.S. it was banana nut:)

We took the cake with us to our hotel room..Jon suprised me with a very me/shabby chic room at the Little America!

Dinner at Rodizio was priceless...

So we decided no gifts for our anniversary and little mister Jon never follows the rules!! He bought me a blow pop....just kidding, he had a custom wedding band made for me since we never got one when we were married and it won't be done for another week so the blow pop will do til then!! Thanks Baby!

Introducing DUKE...he's a Great Dane and he just turned 6 weeks on Friday! He's so much fun and we love him even more now that he started sleeping through the night:) He's already doubled in size since we got him and he recently learned how to sit..with the help of treats!!

Me and Jon are thrilled because we can finally get a puppy and we have both loved Great Danes for so long...so that's what we got!! After researching them on the internet and after much debating we were SOLD! We got a black male and we will call him Duke; however, he won't be ready until June 20th:( At least we have time to get him the things he needs beofre we pick him up!

First I have to say thanks to Miss Erin for the great idea on these letters, they are so fun and easy...time consuming but easy!! Me and Nat spent a Saturday night mod podging, painting and sanding our block letters while our husbands watched t.v. and played videogames and claimed they were bored..bwahahahah!

I decided to use these cute cutouts instead of the letter O in our name, aren't they adorable??

There's a hat for the 4th and 24th, a flower, a ladybug and a sun!

Hopefully later I'll be able to get all the other cute holiday cutouts they have:)

THE BIG 22...

The girls went Gardener Village for lunch at the delicious Archibald's and a little shopping afterwards:) Michele, my younger sister, was there but left early...boo.

Dinner with friends was great, thanks to all who came!
I got lots of fun gifts for my birthday and felt very spoiled!! My parents got me my most favorite perfume in the world, Flowerbomb...mmmmm:)

So me and Jon were sitting on our couch last night watching a lovely episode of Deadliest Catch on Discovery and I was craving ice cream. We walked outside to get in the car and discovered a firetruck, ambulence and the whole Murray police fleet in our parking lot...along with all the neighbors:) We went over to the crowd to see what the commotion was all about when we saw a group of paramedics and police officers restraining a man in a bed as he's yelling all sorts of things..come to find out, he had been beating his wife and the cops were called, he was very out of it we'll say!! Oh and the cops TASERED him as we all stood around in ahh over what was happening!! As they drove him away our neighbor captured the moment just right with this phrase.............."who needs COPS when you have Willowbrook Condomeniums."

Wow, were so nosy but it was the highlight of my day:)

Me and my friend Chelsie had a Bridal Shower for my Bestie Amy Hansen (I did the yummy desserts and I'm not gonna lie they were delicious...oh I love baking), then her wonderful wedding was on April 8th at the Draper Temple and Heritage Gardens, we went to a hockey game with third row seats:), went to the Draper Dedication..AMAZING, and lastly Easter and all its festivities:)

St Baldricks.....

My brother,Alan, held his second annual St Baldrick's event to raise money for kids cancer. Events are held all over the country for this event; it was really fun, everyone wears green and people shave their heads tor raise money for cancer! This year we had bagpipers and Irish dancers, the event was held at Club 90 and lots showed up to support the event. We honored children coping with cancer or who have passed away and we ended raising close to $4000.00!!

To end the day there was a car smash, a raffle and a balloon launch; what a great way to end the event! We'll be doing it next year as well so all are welcome to come...any brave souls want to shave next year???

Here's my bro leading the event, he organized everything and he did an awesome job:)My wonderful neice Jenna decided last minute she was going to shave for the cure and man she is brave...come on, she's in highschool and a cheerleader, the girl has guts!!
They did some major damage to this old klunker but hey it raised $130.00, not too shabby! So I totally forgot to post these pics of me and my friend Kristen at the Rascall Flatts concert and we had a blast! She called me at five thirty the night of the concert and asked if I liked them and that she had won tickets on the radio and asked if I wanted to go....of course I went and they put on a great concert!! So fun!.....Jess Simpson did forgot the words to her own song...awesome:)

BIG LOVE on HBO!!! Please read this http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=356303&GT1=28103 and then go to lds.org to see what else our leaders have said about this. It makes me so sad that this show would take something so sacred and special to our church and splash it all over the t.v. for the world to see!! Please tell all your friends, co-workers and family to participate in this boycott in order to keep the endowment session sacred and only for those righteous to enter the temple, as it should be.

...and I get stressed out when this happens, here's what's on my mind.

Why is my maternity deductable $5000.00??...Why?...not prego, just thinking ahead, I do this a lot.
Why am I so unmotivated to go to school this semester, I wanna sleep in everyday.
I hate money.
Why won't that dang dog that lives by us not bark at all hours of the night?
Why am I obsessed with Dexter and can't stop watching Season 2 on DVD, therefore not doing homework...wait, I know that answer, Jessica and Bryan Rodgers:)
Will I have enough money to go on our trip?

I just need to go home and see my husband's happy face cause he always makes everything better!!

My neice McKenzie has been staying been me and Jon since last Sunday and she's going home tomorrow; it's been fun having her with us staying in the extra bedroom on the blowup matress:)

I baked friendship bread, the kind that takes like ten days to bake, and it was so YUMMY!! For anyone who hasn't tried this Amish bread you are missing out...you have to wait until someone passes it along to you though.

Congrats Julian and Kim!!

So my cute husband made me and Kenz breakfast, crepes, and got us both flowers for Valentine's Day and some other goodies....it was fantastic and we felt spoiled!

This is the puzzle that took me and Kenzie two days to finish, all the green peices were quite tricky but here is the finished product.

Valentine's dinner at Bonzai, we tried to go to Red Lobster and the wait at 4:45 was two hours...no thanks!

Imitative Launch Party

Corbino and his friend Tyler designed some t-shirts and had a launch party at a warehouse last night. They had three bands perform and lots of people showed up, it was pretty awesome!!

Ya!!!! We finally got a sewing machine, thanks to Project Runway, and are very excited to get started. Jon bought some fabric and a pattern to make a men's vest and he's determined to not get any help on learning how to sew, guess he's just gonna jump in!

Clock Party

Sorry, it's been awhile since we've posted so here is an update...Natalie!! I had a clock and magnet board making party in January and here is how mine turned out. It was alot of fun to see everyone's at the end because they all turned out different from each others and beautiful; I forgot to take pictures though of the finished product so you just get to see mine. We started a clear, wood pallet and did everything on them from painting to faux painting to sanding, it was a lot of fun:) The parties are fabulous and here is the link to their website ticktockcollection.com if anyone is interested...invite me!

Temple Square...Finally!!

Tonight we decided to go to the Salt Lake Temple and do an endowment session; it was amazing as always and we really enjoy going!! The rooms are beautiful and we feel so good after doing work for those who have gone before us, the Temple is truly an awesome place to be and it makes me love Jonathan even more than I already do everytime we go! We hadn't checked out the lights this year so when we left the Temple we decided to walk around and it was beautiful also; I still don't know how they get all lights on those trees??

Christmas Eve and Day!!

We spent Christmas Eve with my family celebrated Michele's birthday; we ate at Chiles, had cake, did a white elephant exchange and exchanged gifts! Christmas morning we opened gifts at home then went to the Olson's for more gifts and breakfast, very yummy!! Later that day we went to Grandma Kalani's for more gifts and dinner, also yummy!! The whole fam came over and it was great to sit and talk with everyone, all in all a great Christmas and a great six months it's been since we got married!

Olson tradition of laying presents out on the bed all day after opening them...Jon insisted we do the same! Above is the apron Jon got for me, he had it made and I LOVE it! It's perfect and my favorite gift I received from him, thanks honey!
